The FOUND Project: A Heart-Led Flood Recovery Effort that Proves What’s Possible When the Community Comes Together
On the morning of July 4, 2025, after significant rainfall, destructive and deadly flooding took place in Central Texas. During the flooding, water levels along the Guadalupe River rose rapidly. 72 hours after the catastrophic flood, Dondi Voigt Persyn and Deanna Lindsay founded a movement that would bring the Hill Country community closer than ever.
About the FOUND Project
FOUND on the Guadalupe is a volunteer-based organization with the goal to reunite owners and loved ones with their lost belongings. It was launched without funding or government directive. Within the first few weeks, the FOUND online community had grown to over 55,000 members, returned thousands of lost items, and reunited families amid heartbreak.
Communities Come Together

“Our Two Creeks families were able to quickly provide needed supplies to support the FOUND on the Guadalupe River team. Their mission is to recover, restore, connect, and return items pulled from the debris along the river,” says Amanda Palluch, Owner of Children’s Lighthouse® of San Antonio – Two Creeks.
Mrs. Amanda also knew the organization would benefit greatly from having a ZONO™ machine on-site to disinfect and sanitize lost items. Mrs. Amanda owns and utilizes a ZONO™ Machine in her childcare center so she reached out to the ZONO Technologies’ team to see if they could help.
ZONO Technologies™ was so pleased to support this worthy cause and donated a ZONO™ C4B Compact Cabinet to FOUND on the Guadalupe. “We were so pleased that Mrs. Amanda thought of ZONO™ and offered us the opportunity to help the victims of the Central Texas floods,” says Walter Mann, Founder and Owner of ZONO Technologies™ and ZONOsanitech™.
The Future
FOUND on the Guadalupe’s impact has drawn national attention, being featured in Texas Monthly, People Magazine, The New York Times, and multiple local and national primetime news segments. FOUND has led to thousands of heartwarming reunions between owners and their lost possessions, like a stuffed bunny returned to a child and a treasured family heirloom returned to its owner.
“FOUND on the Guadalupe will continue to serve as long as it is needed. We believe in dignified return, in healing through action, and in building systems that serve real people—not systems that serve themselves,” says Dondi Voigt Persyn, Co-Founder and Initiating Steward of the FOUND Project.
FOUND has continued to emphasize the organization’s use of the ZONO™ Cabinet and frequently updates the community on the success and benefits of its usage.
“Amanda Pullach has been such an integral part of our initiative, we wouldn’t be here without her,” says Mrs. Dondi. “We are deeply grateful to Walter Mann and ZONO Technologies for their generous donation. The ZONO™ has been vital to our process of returning belongings lost in the Guadalupe River flood to their rightful owners.”
